STEP BY STEP

Let's make something delicious.

  1. 01

Cook the rice in a saucepan with salt and 1.5 times as much water.

  2. 02

Trim the spring onions, cut into thin strips and sweat in a frying pan with the cane sugar until caramelised. Remove from the pan.

  3. 03

Trim the chicken breast fillet, cut into evenly sized cubes and place in a large saucepan.

  4. 04

Peel and finely dice the ginger, garlic and shallots.

  5. 05

Mix the soy sauce, honey, rice wine and pepper in a bowl to make the sauce. Add the shallots, garlic and ginger. Pour the sauce over the chicken.

  6. 06

Simmer in the saucepan over a low heat for approx. 30 minutes. Remove the chicken. Mix the starch with cold water and add it to the sauce. Bring briefly to the boil until the sauce has thickened. Return the chicken to the saucepan and mix well with the sauce.

  7. 07

Plate the rice with the teriyaki chicken and serve with the sesame seeds, sesame oil and spring onions.
