STEP BY STEP

Let's make something delicious.

  1. 01

For the bread dough, mix the rye and wheat flours together and sift.

  2. 02

Put the flour in a bowl and make a well in the centre. Crumble the yeast into the well and add 50 ml water. Cover the bowl and leave in a warm place for 15 minutes.

  3. 03

Add the dark beer, salt and fried onions to the dough and knead everything together.

  4. 04

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and leave to rise in a warm place for 40 minutes.

  5. 05

Preheat the oven to 220 °C with top and bottom heat.

  6. 06

Knead the dough on a floured work surface. Shape into two round loaves and leave to rise again for 15 minutes.

  7. 07

Moisten the loaves with water and bake in the oven for 15 minutes until golden brown. Then reduce the temperature to 185 °C, moisten the loaf with water again and bake for a further 10 minutes.
